Hope, Be Undismayed.

6/30/10
Wednesday

10 weeks. Sydney and I are planning to leave for India in 10 weeks. 2 ½ months. Nearly the length of a semester. However you choose to look at it, the time is measurable and quickly approaching. There is so much to do and so many things to get ready!

Right now I am personally trying to get things set in order at home while spending as much time as I can spare down in Philly. This period of transition is sometimes difficult to navigate. On my last trip back up from the Philly area I listened to a song that was very encouraging to me. This is how it starts out:

Give to the wind your fear
Hope and be undismayed

God hears your sighs and counts your tears
God will lift up, God will lift up, lift up your head

I love the power in these words! Give to the wind your fear, hope be undismayed. Why should I do such a foolish thing? Because God, who hears my sighing and counts my tears, He is the one who will raise my head.It is by His power and strength and grace that I am enabled to continue on the path He has laid for me. This is how the rest of the song goes:

Chorus:
God will lift up your head (3X)
Lift up your head

Leave to His sovereign sway
To choose and to command
Then shall we wandering on His way
Know how wise and how strong
How wise and how strong
How strong is His hand

Chorus

Through waves and clouds and storms,
He gently clears the way
Wait because in His time, so shall this night
Soon end in joy, soon end in joy (5X)

God will lift up your head
Soon end in joy (3X)

  • Jars of Clay, Redemption Songs: God Will Lift Your Head.

This has been a huge encouragement to me as I face all the changes that are taking place and decisions that are must be made in the time to come. I hope it is encouraging to you aswell!
